Barack Obama History
The son of a black Kenyan father and a white American mother, Barack Obama spent his early childhood in Honolulu, Hawaii before relocating to Jakarta, Indonesia, where he lived from the age of six to ten.
Obama would later graduate from Columbia University and Harvard Law School to become a civil rights lawyer. After losing a US House of Representatives campaign in 2000, Barack delivered a keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention which propelled him to the national media spotlight and faciliated a successful win to the US Senate in November 2004.
